FAQ

What is The Plug Weekly?

A free weekly email with five well-scored MCP servers. Each pick comes with a plain-English summary, the evidence behind its score and an install command.

What is an MCP server?

A program that lets an AI assistant use a tool or data source through the Model Context Protocol, an open protocol for connecting assistants to other systems.

How are picks chosen?

We read the official MCP Registry, look up each server's public GitHub repository and npm package, and score maintenance, security hygiene and adoption. Picks come from the highest-scoring servers. Details are on the Socketlist scoring page.

Are the picks paid for?

No. Sponsored content is always labelled and never changes which servers we pick or how they are scored.

How often does it arrive, and what does it cost?

Every Monday, free. You can unsubscribe with one click from any email.

What do you do with my email address?

We keep it only to send the newsletter, and our email provider (Resend) delivers it. We do not sell or share it. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. See the privacy policy.
